Harry’s parents, James and Lily Potter, were murdered by the evil Lord Voldemort. The evil lord had put a killing curse on Harry, when he was just a baby, after killing his parents. One day, before Harry was just about to celebrate his eleventh birthday, a sequence of events start to unfold.
First, an owl tries to deliver a mysterious letter to Harry, and this leads Harry into meeting a giant man who was named Hagrid. It is Hagrid, the giant who explains to Harry his history. He tells him of how the evil lord had murdered his parents and how he had cursed him. For ten years, Harry lives a life of being cruelly mistreated by his Aunt Petunia. He lives in a cupboard under the stairs. Harry receives a letter of admission from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and he is surprised by that.
Uncle Vernon snatches the letter from him before he could open it and read it. As a result, messages plagued the house. The house then gets surrounded by owls. Fortunately, for Harry, the giant named Hagrid appears with another letter. Hagrid then deals with his Uncle Vernon and his good for nothing son Dudley.
Harry gets to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The principal of the school is a great wizard and is known as Albus Dumbledore. As Harry’s school years get underway, he notices that Snape, his portions professor, does not like him. It is during his school years that Harry discovers that he is a wizard.
During Harry’s first flying lesson on broomsticks, a fellow student named Malfoy throws a ball in the air. Harry speeds downwards and makes a spectacular catch. Professor McGonagall witnesses Harry’s dramatic incident and recommends that he plays Quidditch. Dark thoughts overshadowed Harry during his first year about the murder of his parents. He, therefore, desires to one day meet Lord Voldemort and have his revenge. His passion and curiosity to meet the evil lord get him and his friends into trouble. I got emotional when I thought about Dumbledore calling Voldemort “Tom”. Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself. How bout them ????
