Reviews of The Handmaid’s Tale PDF

The Handmaid’s Tale PDF came out, it has received several reports. Although it has received both negative and positive reviews, most people loved this book. You can tell this by the number of positive reviews that it has received.

One particular review that I would agree with is Emily May’s Review. According to her, the book made her interested in gender politics. When you read The Handmaid’s Tale online free pdf, you will get completely absorbed into the sad dystopian reality of this book. The author uses a tone that works like a knife to the hearts of the readers.

The author gives us a horrific portrait of a future that seems to be far too reminiscent of our society. This book can convince you that the world it is talking about could happen. There are so many themes and interpretations that you can get from this book.

However, what I did not like about this book is the way it ends. Its ending is somehow ambiguous as you never know the fate of Offred, the narrator. It can put you off the book.

What is the Significance of the Setting in The Handmaid’s Tale PDF?

Going through the Handmaid’s Tale PDF, you will come across some geographical clues that will identify Offred’s former town as Cambridge in Massachusetts. The author chose this place as a setting because it is where Harvard University is located. In the Totalitarian state, Gilead, Harvard Yard is turned into a detention centre.

This choice of the setting enables the author to show how totalitarian governments can overturn the ideals that have been embodied by learning institutions and instead enshrines a regime of torture, lies, oppression and the denial of every human.
